Keepers cook up tasty treat for primates
Colchester Zoo
Temperatures may have been below zero for several days but the animals at Colchester Zoo are all cosy and warm. They have all got warm indoor areas to shelter away from the cold and with indoor enclosures having underfloor heating or radiators, the animals that want to stay inside are all tucked up in the warm. Some animals, however, like the tigers or wolves love nothing better than the chance to play out in the snow!
And just for an extra treat, the keepers have been cooking up some tasty snacks for the primates to ensure that they stay nice and warm. The zoo's group of Chimpanzees soon polished off a batch of Baked potatoes given to them by the keepers!
However, Tiga, the Orangutan was more interested in investigating his first attempt at a snow ball!
